The game known as Chemin de Fer, also referred to as Baccarat, | A popular variation of Baccarat is when a player takes on the role of the banker. If the banker wins, the casino collects a commission. |
Chips | Chips, also commonly referred to as tokens, are used as bets in certain games (such as roulette, online poker). |
Column (Roulette) | A potential roulette bet where one places their wager on one of the three columns on the number field. |
Croupier | "French for dealers. Frequently used in Baccarat and Roulette." |

Doppelnull (Roulette) | In American Roulette, there is a double zero which gives the bank a larger house advantage. |
Double Down (Blackjack) | In some variants of Blackjack, players have the opportunity to double their bet as their first move. They will receive exactly one additional card and then the round will end. |
Dozens (Roulette) | A wager at roulette where one bets on a dozen of numbers. |
Down Card | A concealed card, for example in Blackjack or Texas Hold'em Poker |
Draw (card games) | In certain card games, there is an opportunity to request additional cards or exchange cards to enhance one's hand. |
Drilling | Also known as Trips or Three of a Kind, it refers to three cards of the same value, such as in online poker. |
Real money mode | In this mode, you play the casino games for real money. |
Equality | French for tie, such as in Baccarat |
One armed bandits | Common term used for slot machines that were previously equipped with a large lever on the side and "emptied the money from one's pockets." |
Easy Chance (Roulette) | Certain roulette bets that pay 1:1. For instance: Red/Black, Even/Odd, High/Low. |
increase | Also known as "raise". One increases the bet, for example in a game of poker. |
Face Cards | Picture cards - Jack, Queen, or King |
Flop (Poker) | The initial three community cards in Texas Hold'em. |
Flush (Poker) | A poker hand consisting of five cards of the same suit, such as five hearts or clubs. |
Fold (Poker) | One surrenders their poker hand and is eliminated from the game. Preceding bets are lost. |
Free Spins | Free spins that can be obtained through a bonus offer or won in an online slot game. |
Fruit Machine | The informal term used to refer to slot machines. |
Full House (Poker) | A poker hand consisting of three of a kind and a pair. |
Odds of winning | Also known as odds. Indicates the percentage chance of winning. |
Payline | A line on slot machines that extends across the reels. When multiple symbols of equal value land on a payline, you win. |
House edge | In all casino games, the bank (meaning the casino) possesses a mathematical advantage over the players. |
High Card (Poker) | If you have no other hand combinations in poker, the highest card determines the winner. |
High Roller | High rollers are players who gamble with exceptionally large amounts of money in casinos and are often given preferential treatment. |
Hole Cards (Poker) | The concealed cards in poker or blackjack that only the respective player or dealer is allowed to see. |
Inside bet (roulette) | Bets placed on the inner number field of the tableau, specifically bets on numbers or number groups. |
Insurance (Blackjack) | In some variations of Blackjack, players have the option to take insurance against a dealer's Blackjack. If the dealer indeed has Blackjack, the player will receive a partial refund of their bet. |
Joker | In some card games, the Joker is added to the deck or a specific card is declared as the Joker. It can substitute for any card. For instance, in the video poker variation called Deuces Wild, the four twos are considered as Jokers. |
Card carriage | Also known as a shoe or a shoe. The sled is a box that contains the cards and protects them from potential manipulations. |
Buy (Blackjack) | Also known as a "hit," one purchases an additional card in blackjack. |
Line Bet (slot machines) | The bet per payline in online slots. |
License | Every online casino needs a valid gambling license to legally offer real money casino games. |
Muck | The designated spot for all discarded cards. Once a card lands in the muck, it is out of play. |

Qualifier (Casino Poker) | In certain casino poker variants, the dealer's hand must meet a minimum standard before a payout can occur. |
Rail | Distinguishing between spectators and players, as in a poker tournament. |
Raise (Poker) | In this move, one increases the bet after another player's initial wager. |
Rake (Poker) | The portion of the poker pot that the casino collects as a fee. |
Risk game | In certain casino games, players have the opportunity to gamble their winnings in a risk game. Typically, this involves a double-or-nothing game. |
River (Poker) | The final betting round in an online poker game. |
RNG | English translation: "English for random number generator or random number generator." |

Symbols (slot machines) | In slot machines, the reels are filled with symbols such as fruits, bells, numbers, and more. These symbols can also have bonus features like Wild or Scatter. |
Tableau (Roulette) | The game field in roulette. One places their chips on the corresponding field on the tableau to make a bet. |
Tie Bet | A man places a bet on a tie during a game, specifically on a draw. |
Tilt | If someone is "on tilt," they are no longer able to make rational decisions. Reasons for being on tilt can include a string of bad luck, as well as fatigue or hunger. |
Table limit | The maximum or minimum bet allowed in a table game. In a casino, the same game is often offered with different table limits. |
Transversal (Roulette) | French for a cross row. One bets on three numbers that are in a row on the tableau. |
Turn (Poker) | The third round of play in Texas Hold'em or Omaha Pot Limit Poker. The fourth community card is revealed, followed by another round of betting. |
Sales requirement | The amount one must wager in an online casino to unlock a bonus. For instance, with a 30x wagering requirement, you would need to wager 30 times the bonus amount. |
Variance | The fluctuation in a casino game. The higher the variance, the longer losing streaks can be, but also the greater the potential winnings. |
