A Yale University study, whose findings were published in the American Journal of Psychiatry, declared that recreational gamblers aged 65 and older are likely to be in better health than their peers who don’t gamble.
The survey of 2,400 people relied on participants reporting their gambling habits, health and other personal information. It showed older gamblers also reported less alcoholism, depression, bankruptcy and imprisonment than younger recreational gamblers according to Yale epidemiologist Rani Desai.
“There’s this whole concept of healthy ageing – that folks who continue to remain engaged in activity, especially in the community and in social activities, staying healthier for longer,” said Desai. “So I think this is a reflection of that. It’s not that gambling makes you healthy, it’s that gamblers are healthier.”
Of course there are some similarities to a quote from the renowned MP, broadcaster, gambler Clement Freud who once said: “If you resolve to give up smoking, drinking and loving, you don’t actually live longer; it just seems longer!”
And also Star Trek’s Spock who always preached: “Live long and prosper!” That’s fitting considering CashDrop Casinos recommended online casino, BGO Casino, have an excellent Star Trek themed slot.
The three-pay-line Star Trek slot features a 94.99 percent RTP and is jam packed with bonus features – enough to help even its oldest players to prosper…
Would love to see a Dr Who or a X files slot machine then I’d live long and prosper. 🖖
