Arian Grande 15/8 Favourite Top Christmas Charts
Christmas is in the air and in the UK Charts as the stars battle it out to claim the coveted Christmas Number 1 spot this year. BoyleSports have the odds at hand to shed some light as to who we all might be singing along to on our Christmas nights out.
Ariana Grande has been dominating the charts this year and is the current UK Number 1 with ‘Thank U Next’. It looks like the singer is going to continue to top the charts in the festive season as she is the 15/8 favourite to be Number 1 on Christmas Day. Relative newbie to the chart scene Ava Max, whose track ‘Sweet But Psycho’ is lying 13th in the charts, is the 4/1 second favourite.
Elton John’s “Step Into Christmas” may not have been able to land him Christmas Number 1, however he is third in the betting at 6/1 after featuring in the John Lewis ad singing ‘Your Song’ whilst looking back on his past Christmases.
The X Factor winner will be crowned this weekend and although past winners have dominated the charts, claiming a total of seven Christmas Number 1’s, this year’s winner is an 8/1 shot to claim the top spot.
Aoife Heffron, Spokesperson for BoyleSports commented: “The Christmas UK Number 1 will be revealed on Friday 21st December and with Ariana Grande already top of the charts, breaking streaming records while she’s at it, we think she will be hard to topple at the top and that’s the reason she is the current favourite at 15/8.”
She added, “X Factor’s hold on the Christmas Charts has slipped, it’s been four years since they took the coveted Number 1 slot, with Ben Haenow the last winner to do so. Dalton Harris is the firm 2/9 favourite to win this year, but the competition in the charts may see him lose out on what once was the X Factor tradition of being the Christmas Number 1.”
