Game Of Thrones is back in the headlines after Donald Trump was warned by producers HBO for using an image. Trump shared a picture of himself, hinting at upcoming action on Iran, with the tagline ‘Sanctions are coming, which echoed the famous ‘Winter is coming’ line taken from the hit HBO show. However it is the burning issue of who will rule Westeros that is on the lips of punters as the season finale gets ready to launch in the Spring.
BoyleSports rate Bran Stark as the most likely character to keep an eye on and he stands as a double-your-money even money shot to sit on the Iron Throne at the end of the series. The character played by Isaac Hempstead-Wright had at one stage been a 33/1 outsider but is now a hot favourite to rule Westeros by the show’s conclusion.
Will Bran Stark rule Westeros?
Significant Gamble
However there has been a significant gamble on Tyrion Lannister, who had been an outside 20/1 shot earlier in the week. The actor who portrays the character, Peter Dinklage, revealed this week that the show is set for a ‘brutal’ final battle scene and he is now just an 8/1 shot himself to rule Westeros when the credits roll after the surge in bets.
Both Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen were gambled following the conclusion to Season 7, when Jon finally bent the knee to Daenerys and was revealed as the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. But support for both has cooled and the previous 2/1 joint favourites have now been pushed out to 4/1 by BoyleSports.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “The patience of Game Of Thrones fans is being tested to the full and this week we saw a rush of money for Tyrion Lannister to rule Westeros come the finale. We can only take clues from the betting patterns because we’re as in the dark as everyone else and we’ll be glued to our screens like everyone else come the Spring to see if the gamble was merited.”
